Who is a Candidate for Medical Weight Loss in Clearwater, FL?

Did you know that over 45 million people in America try going on a diet every year? With as many obese people in the nation, that makes sense. Unfortunately, about half of those people fail to meet their weight loss goals. Often, it's because the diets they choose aren't focused on making them healthy - they're only about quick, unhealthy weight loss.

In reality, most diets don't work in the long run. The best way to lose weight and keep it off for good is with practical, healthy lifestyle changes. That's where physicians and other weight loss professionals can help. Unlike fly-by-night diets, medical weight loss has been proven to be effective.

But how do you know if you're a candidate? Let's take a look at five common signs you need medical weight loss treatment.

You're 100 Pounds over Recommended Weight

While it's true that about 42% of the U.S. population is considered overweight, not everyone needs a weight loss program to follow. However, if you're more than 100 pounds over the recommended weight for your height and age, medical weight loss might be the best option for weight loss.

Other Diets and Weight Loss Methods Failed You

Are you at your wit's end because you've tried every diet under the sun, only to make minimal to no progress? Millions of other Americans are going through the same problems you're experiencing. At Nutrifi40, we work with many different patients, many of whom come to use exasperated because nothing they try works. You may be tempted to give up, but we encourage you to consider a medical weight loss clinic for help.

Normal Activities are Hard or Impossible

One of the most challenging aspects of being obese is that everyday life gets much more complicated. Yes, trying to fit into regular clothes is probably off the table, but so are ordinary things that require minimal effort. Simple tasks like carrying groceries from your car into your house are extremely difficult. Other activities, like walking upstairs in a friend's home, are out of the question.

You're Ready to Make a Change

Are you ready to heal your body and make fundamental changes? If you are, we've got great news - Nutrifit40 is prepared to be the partner you need to achieve your weight loss goals. The first step towards achieving a healthy weight and, by proxy, healthy life is to actually take that first step. If being fed up with how you look and feel is enough motivation to get started, pat yourself on the back. You're already making progress!

You Have Health Problems Due to Obesity

Medical weight loss is about much more than aesthetics or vanity. It's about preventing or reversing weight-related health issues that put your life at risk. Once you cross a certain threshold, it's hard to get off meds like cholesterol pills, but with medical weight loss, it's possible. If you have any of the following obesity-related health problems, you should consider Nutrifit40:

  • Metabolic Syndromes
  • Insulin Resistance
  • Pre-Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Tourism is Florida’s top industry and Clearwater is seeing record numbers and growth.

Local business advocacy groups say they want to make sure small businesses aren’t left behind. Amplify Clearwater developed the idea of creating a tourism business incubator in Florida.

"That's exactly what we do at Amplify Clearwater, is build that community, surround entrepreneurs that are excited about their idea with others that they can lean on through the process, the tools and the resources that they need to get there, all of the marketing and wraparound services to help them be successful," Kristina Park, Chief Operating Officer said.

They teamed up with Economic Impact Catalyst to launch the new initiative.

"So, this incubator, first of its kind in Florida, and this is essentially a way to bring local businesses to start locally, raise their families here, improve their quality of living, and at the same time be able to drive innovation here," David Ponraj, CEO of Economic Impact Catalyst shared.

The incubator will create a physical space to help our local entrepreneurs get access to the resources they need to keep their business going and our economy thriving.

"I'm a small business owner myself and I've started multiple businesses. Small business owners have a lot of needs because you need to know where you can find a good lawyer, where you can find a good accountant," Ponraj said.

It will help small businesses and boost our local economy in the process.

"It's not just maybe what you think about automatically when you think tourism, whether it's hospitality or restaurants. They're sports tourism and medical tourism and innovation happening in green technology for sustainable eco-tourism moving forward," Park said. "So, I'm really excited to see what partners come to the table, what ideas that they're able to incubate right here in Clearwater."

The initial startup was funded by the City of Clearwater. The first cohort of businesses will start in October.

The Amazon Fresh grocery stores are not Whole Foods and operate independently, according to Amazon.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Florida's first Amazon Fresh store could be coming soon to northern Pinellas County — at least it looks like it.

The site is located at the corner of Enterprise and McMullen Booth roads in Safety Harbor in what used to be a Winn-Dixie that closed in 2021. The 35,000-square-foot storefront has been vacant since, but more development has been seen outside the building, including a fresh coat of paint and other green features.

The look is similar to a design used by other existing Amazon Fresh stores elsewhere in the United States. 10 Tampa Bay reached out to Amazon for confirmation of the store and in response, the company said, in part: "We don’t comment on our future roadmap."

If an Amazon Fresh is opened in the area, it will not only be the first store in the Tampa Bay area but the first in Florida.

You might already be familiar with the online application of Amazon Fresh — a service that allows Prime members to order same-day groceries right to their home, including fresh produce and meats, or shop in-store with an option to pay through the physical cart and not a traditional checkout. Since 2020, Amazon says it has opened about 44 brick-and-mortar Amazon Fresh stores in states including California, Illinois, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, Maryland and Washington D.C.

However, plans for additional Amazon Fresh locations, including here in Florida, may have recently been put on the back burner, according to a report from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The Sentinel explains Amazon stopped opening new Fresh-branded grocery stores in September 2022 due, in part, to sluggish sales within the company. Then, in January, more than 18,000 Amazon employees were laid off, including some Amazon Fresh staff.

Related Articles

"While new South Florida stores were never officially announced by Amazon, telltale design elements at the locations in Boca Raton and Plantation fueled speculation that they would house Amazon Fresh stores," the Sentinel said in its July report.

The Amazon Fresh grocery stores are not Whole Foods and operate independently, according to Amazon. Within these stores, shoppers are reportedly able to have a "seamless" grocery shopping experience.

Shoppers have access to national brands and Amazon-owned ones offering "high-quality produce, meat and seafood." Amazon says their stores also have a "culinary team" offering a "range of delicious prepared foods made fresh in-store every day."
