Who is a Candidate for Medical Weight Loss in Westchase, FL?

Did you know that over 45 million people in America try going on a diet every year? With as many obese people in the nation, that makes sense. Unfortunately, about half of those people fail to meet their weight loss goals. Often, it's because the diets they choose aren't focused on making them healthy - they're only about quick, unhealthy weight loss.

In reality, most diets don't work in the long run. The best way to lose weight and keep it off for good is with practical, healthy lifestyle changes. That's where physicians and other weight loss professionals can help. Unlike fly-by-night diets, medical weight loss has been proven to be effective.

But how do you know if you're a candidate? Let's take a look at five common signs you need medical weight loss treatment.

You're 100 Pounds over Recommended Weight

While it's true that about 42% of the U.S. population is considered overweight, not everyone needs a weight loss program to follow. However, if you're more than 100 pounds over the recommended weight for your height and age, medical weight loss might be the best option for weight loss.

Other Diets and Weight Loss Methods Failed You

Are you at your wit's end because you've tried every diet under the sun, only to make minimal to no progress? Millions of other Americans are going through the same problems you're experiencing. At Nutrifi40, we work with many different patients, many of whom come to use exasperated because nothing they try works. You may be tempted to give up, but we encourage you to consider a medical weight loss clinic for help.

Normal Activities are Hard or Impossible

One of the most challenging aspects of being obese is that everyday life gets much more complicated. Yes, trying to fit into regular clothes is probably off the table, but so are ordinary things that require minimal effort. Simple tasks like carrying groceries from your car into your house are extremely difficult. Other activities, like walking upstairs in a friend's home, are out of the question.

You're Ready to Make a Change

Something has to change if you've been living with extra weight for a long time and you're sick and tired of living an unhealthy, unfulfilling life. Are you ready to heal your body and make fundamental changes? If you are, we've got great news - Nutrifit40 is prepared to be the partner you need to achieve your weight loss goals. The first step towards achieving a healthy weight and, by proxy, healthy life is to actually take that first step. If being fed up with how you look and feel is enough motivation to get started, pat yourself on the back. You're already making progress!

You Have Health Problems Due to Obesity

Medical weight loss is about much more than aesthetics or vanity. It's about preventing or reversing weight-related health issues that put your life at risk. Once you cross a certain threshold, it's hard to get off meds like cholesterol pills, but with medical weight loss, it's possible. If you have any of the following obesity-related health problems, you should consider Nutrifit40:

  • Metabolic Syndromes
  • Insulin Resistance
  • Pre-Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol

3 Florida Cities Among Money's Best Places To Live

FLORIDA — Tampa and Sarasota in Florida are among the best places to live in the United States, according to a new ranking released this week by Money.

The 2022 ranking of 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. includes cities that offer the best in what matters most to residents: economic opportunities, quality of life, and diversity, according to Money. This year, researchers also set out to feature a more diverse list of cities than in past years.

“We kept returning to the question, ‘best places to live for whom?’” researchers said on Money’s website. “(Previous cities were) often quaint, affordable — and unintentionally yet overwhelmingly white. We wanted to create a more welcoming list for a broader group of people this year, so we restructured our data gathering and ranking processes to reflect that priority.”

Tampa ranked the highest on the list among cities in Florida at No. 9 on the list. With a population of 379,742 people, Tampa residents have a median household income of $70,145, while the city’s unemployment rate is 2.7 percent.

Here is some of what Money found to be among Tampa's assets: "Tampa is a rare combination of action-packed and affordable: The median home sale price is about $381,000, one of the lowest on our list, and you’ll get plenty of bang for your buck. There’s nightlife galore in the Ybor City district. Tampa’s 20- and 30-somethings also flock to spots like Angry Chair Brewing, which serves its famous stouts alongside kitchen faves like pickle dip, and Taco Bus, which was dishing burritos out of its yellow school bus way before food trucks were cool.

"The Tampa Bay area — which includes nearby cities like St. Petersburg and Clearwater — is bursting with culture. Check out Surrealist art at the Dalí Museum or see a touring Broadway show at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Go to the beach or Busch Gardens, home of the award-winning Iron Gwazi roller coaster. And don’t miss Gasparilla, an annual pirate festival with a Mardi Gras-style parade."

Sarasota ranked No. 43 on the list. With a population of 56,115 people, Tampa residents have a median household income of $64,142, while the city’s unemployment rate is 2.6 percent.

Among the top selling points for Sarasota, Money says: "Located on the west coast of Florida, Sarasota is a paradise for beach, culture and wildlife lovers. Sunbathers can enjoy sandy stretches on nearby Siesta Key (which has a thriving social scene — ever seen that MTV reality show?) and Longboat Key (where hundreds of sea turtles lay their eggs every year).

"Art fans won’t feel out of place, either. Sarasota boasts the Ringling Museum, a museum built by circus operator John Ringling and his wife in the 1920s. Styled after the Uffizi in Florence, Italy, the museum is home to pieces from artists like Peter Paul Rubens as well as a massive courtyard filled with bronze cast statues — including a replica of Michelangelo’s David.

Also included on the list is Altamonte Springs north of Orlando, ranked 38th.

To determine the cities on this year’s list, Money analyzed data in nine different areas: cost of living, diversity, economic opportunity, education, fun and amenities, health and safety, the housing market, income and personal finance, and quality of life.

Data was collected from several sources including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The top city on this year’s list is Atlanta, Georgia.

“This is no accident,” researchers said. “At a time when people are becoming much more introspective about their role in society, our goal this year was to name a number one where anyone can feel like they belong. And for that, Atlanta is hard to beat.”

Following Atlanta is Tempe, Arizona, at No. 2, and Kirkland, Washington, at No. 3.

Tampa, FL – AdventHealth will break ground on the construction of two new ‘Care Pavilions’ – one in Westchase and one in New Tampa. These new medical care pavilions will be part of the AdventHealth network of care and will provide additional convenient access to patients by integrating multiple health care services into one location for convenient “one-stop shopping.” The goal of the Care Pavilion is to focus on convenience, making health care easier to access while enhancing the overall patient experience.

“We are continuously innovating how we deliver care in our communities by understanding what services are needed – even those outside of the traditional health care delivery model – and help fill those gaps in care,” said Mike Schultz, President and CEO, AdventHealth West Florida Division. “This year has presented a number of challenges that allowed us to be innovative in how we provide care to consumers, including modifying existing technology and leveraging new technology to continue to treat COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients. Our care pavilions are a natural extension of what consumers are telling us they want and need in their communities.”

The AdventHealth Care Pavilions will provide both traditional and non-traditional health care amenities at each location based on the size of the facility and the medical needs of the local community. The use of innovative technology and architectural designs will also be fundamental and unique to each location to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

The first two Care Pavilion concepts in Tampa Bay will be located in Westchase at 10987 Sheldon Rd, Tampa, FL 33626 and New Tampa at 8702 Hunters Lake Drive Tampa, FL 33647. Construction on both facilities is expected to be completed Summer 2021.

The school opened for the 2017-18 school year with a limited enrollment while finishing touches were put on the building.

Principal Dana Smith said the building is now complete and the school is ready to accept applications for students in grades kindergarten through seven for the 2018-19 school year.

TAMPA, FL — There’s a new cat in town. Bobcat that is.

Kitchi, a one-year-old male bobcat, has been officially released back into the wild at Hillsborough County’s Upper Tampa Bay Regional Park. The critter, who will now get to roam a secluded section of the 580-acre park at 8001 Double Branch Road, didn’t have the best start to life.

According to the county, Kitchi, whose name means “brave” in Algonquin, was found alone, dehydrated and underweight in a Hillsborough County field last year. A resident spotted the kitten, estimated to be about 4 or 5 weeks old, in June 2015 and brought him to Kris Porter.

Porter, the head of Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife, called on the nonprofit organization to nurse the kitten back to health. As Kitchi grew stronger, he was sent to the Louisiana Bobcat Refuge to learn the ins and outs of being a bobcat in the wild, a county media release said.

Kitchi took to the training well and was returned to Hillsborough County this week. He was released into the park’s acreage on Aug. 10.

Upper Tampa Bay Regional Park serves as a perfect place for Kitchi to stretch his legs, Brian Evarts, senior park manager, said. The park has a good mix of trees, native vegetation and salt and freshwater habitat that is perfect for bobcats, he said.

“I always get emotional,’’ Porter was quoted by the county as saying after Kitchi's release. “It’s an incredible feeling to know that you were a part of something so big that so many people were involved in from start to finish.’’

Bobcats are found throughout Florida. The creatures live a nocturnal life, making them a relatively rare site in the wild. Their distinct pointed ears and short “bob” tail make them stand out from other native cats.
